Your Guide to Exploring Downtown Crosby: Where Small-Town Charm Meets Local Flavor

When you stay at Cuyuna Lakes Stay, you’re not just near the trails and lakes—you’re also just minutes from one of our favorite parts of the area: downtown Crosby. This little downtown is full of charm, personality, and plenty of reasons to slow down and explore.

Whether you’re here for the weekend or staying a while, here’s how to spend a laid-back day discovering what downtown Crosby has to offer.

First Stop: Coffee

Let’s be real—no day starts without a good cup of coffee.

Crosby Coffee Company is a go-to for both locals and visitors. The coffee is rich, the pastries are fresh, and the vibe is welcoming. Whether you’re grabbing something to-go or sitting down to plan your day, it’s always a good start.

You could also swing by Red Raven Bike Café for coffee with a side of cycling vibes. This café/bike shop combo is a unique local gem with breakfast options that hit the spot.

Shop Around and See What You Find

Downtown Crosby is super walkable, which makes it perfect for casual browsing. You won’t find big-box stores here—just small businesses with heart.

Stop in at Antiques & Artisans, where you can easily lose track of time sifting through vintage treasures, handcrafted gifts, and fun surprises.

Looking for something a little more curated? Victual in nearby Aitkin has specialty foods and local treats that are perfect for gifting—or, let’s be honest, snacking on later.

And if you’re into art, Ripple River Gallery is worth checking out. It’s a peaceful little space showcasing work by regional artists, and you might just find the perfect piece to take home.

Grab a Bite When You’re Hungry

There’s no shortage of good food in Crosby, and you don’t have to go far to find it.

Red Raven Bike Café is a solid choice for a casual lunch—fresh wraps, sandwiches, and salads served in a cozy, bike-friendly setting.

Iron Range Eatery is a favorite for both lunch and dinner. Think creative comfort food with a Minnesota twist (if you haven’t tried their wild rice burger, now’s the time). The space is stylish yet unpretentious, and the menu always has something interesting.

If you’re craving something classic and casual, The Deerstand in Deerwood is a great option just down the road. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a no-frills, good meal.

Don’t Forget Dessert (or a Souvenir)

After lunch, treat yourself to something sweet. Mixed Company has baked goods that are always tempting—cookies, muffins, bars, you name it. It’s the perfect afternoon stop to recharge.

While you’re out and about, pick up a little something to remember your trip. Many downtown shops carry locally made products—from candles and soaps to artwork and apparel. They’re great for gifts or just bringing a bit of Crosby home with you.

Slow Down and Enjoy the Atmosphere

Crosby isn’t the kind of place you need to rush through. The pace here is slower—in the best way. Sit by the lake, chat with the locals, or just wander with no destination in mind. That’s part of what makes this place so special.

Make It a Part of Your Stay

Whether you spend an hour or an entire afternoon, downtown Crosby adds a little something extra to your time in Cuyuna Lakes. It’s warm, welcoming, and full of personality—just like the people who live here.
